Tai-Chi

Looking for a pain-free, stress-relieving activity for the mind and body? Young or Old, Experienced or Beginner, anyone can do it: Tai-Chi!

Tai-Chi is a type of Internal Chinese Martial Art practiced for both its defense training and its health benefits. It is also typically practiced for a variety of other personal reasons: its hard and soft martial art technique and longevity. Some of t'ai chi ch'uan's training forms are especially known for being practiced at what most people categorize as slow movement.

A perfect Tai Chi candidate is anyone who is looking for a low-impact type of exercise that increases muscle flexibility, good balance, and focus of the mind. Our classes run for 60 minutes and finish with a wonderful meditation moment that will cradle you back to your daily life in a more fulfilled and calm mood. In essence, it's perfect for on-the-go New Yorkers looking for an oasis.

Our Tai-Chi instructor is Yu-Min and she holds a Master of Exercise Science and Rehabilitation from Brooklyn College in addition to a Masters in Martial Arts from Chinese Culture University. Yu-Min's speciality is stress release, lower back pain and limb rehabilitation. She is also certified in Personal Training and Martial Arts intstruction, as well as American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support. She is a Clinic Exercise Specialist from American College of Sports Medicine.
